New storyboard draft 1

In my new storyboard I've used some of the scenes from the old one but changed the theme and made new ones. I added more running scenes as this is a chase and my old storyboard was too much like a fight sequence. Now I've taken into consideration obstacles and situations in the characters path:

Tribesmen

For my theme I'm going to go more now for a kind of tribesman fantasy theme. When I timed out my original storyboard in premiere its too quick paced so i need to make a couple of changes

Here a test animatic of the final part of the animation:

Storyboard first draft

In my first draft I only put in the timing alongside the pictures so I get an idea of how long it is. I've gone for a very quick paced and action-packed sequence, as I want to keep the adrenaline up. In 30 seconds its quite hard to get much of a narrative alongside a chase scene so I've gone for the simple plot of man running away from monster, and eventually accepting he must stay and fight.

I feel this scene is going to work most of interesting visuals and quick paced movement with good body mechanics. The story line will be irrelevant and there won't be much time to take in all the scenery. I've also taken to consideration that if I do go for an After effects cut-out animation that all the camera angles will work for it:

Where do we begin?

Are next project after Digital Layout Design is our Animation Patrice 02 and PDP. In basic terms, we are making a 30 second chase scene, which can be made in any form of animation (3D, 2D, 2.5D) and it is to be 30 - 40 seconds. We need to design scenery, characters (if its 3D we can choose free-to-use rigs) and storyboards etc.

For my project i want to keep interested and dedicated to the project so I'm going to probably try out after effects again as I had great fun trying out 2.5D cutout animation. Also with this form animation I have more control over the art style, scenery and characters. I want to go for a sci-fi monster theme with not too much suspense but more adrenaline and action.
